So Quick!

I had a "snack" this evening after church and just sat down to calculate the calories I consumed. I didn't get stuffed, but I'm full enough. I'm too embarrassed to say how much it was...boy it sure adds up quickly. Oh my.

The worst part of this late night snacking is I was debating for about 20 minutes, while I prepared for bed, whether or not I should have a Greek yogurt. That would've only been 170 calories. I ended up eating over twice that.

*sigh*

Folks, this is my worst area of weakness..snacking. I know I'm not alone in this..I was just amazed at how many calories I could consume quickly and not feel stuffed.

  1. I feel ya! I get home from work and can consume as many calories before dinner as I did all day long at work. I often wonder if I need to eat more at work so that I'm not starving when I get home. Tomorrow is a new day! :)

  2. Snacking is tough. Do you do it because you are hungry or bored? I tend to snack when I'm bored and it's totally unconscious, I'm not even really "enjoying" what I'm eating, just shoveling it in,right now when I'm hungry I drink water. Lately I've been consuming about 12 a day. I used to consume about 10, I've upped it just to clear away the snacking beasts.

    1. Definitely boredom and habits. There are certain snacktime habits that I am finding hard to break. I used to snack at certain times if I ate a lighter meal, but I'm noticing that when I eat a fuller meal I'm not hungry at that appointed snack time and then I don't know what to do with myself. It's strange and sad that I'm so stuck to habitual eating. Darn...more things to work on.

I do try and drink water when I want to munch, just not so much directly before bed like last night. I drink about 64 oz of water daily.
