No Cookie - Yes Candy

So today after school someone was handing out chocolate chip cookies and I declined one. Another teacher said, "Oh are you giving them up?" I just laughed. Whee!

But ........

...... then when I got home I ate two snack packs of candies - one peanut M&Ms and one Reese's PB Candies. Oh, goodness, as I'm writing I'm remembering I also ate one PB Cup after dinner.

Yikes!

Well, I decided that Halloween and PMS munchies aren't a good mix.

Oh well....honestly I was so hungry when I got home that is why I had those two candy packs. I was busy cleaning and didn't want to stop for some fruit. We didn't eat dinner until another hour or so. I hadn't eaten very much all day, so that is why I was so hungry.

As Anne of Green Gables said, "Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet."

  1. Good job on turning away the cookie. I know what you mean about getting home and being hungry. That is how I am quite a bit. I am sure you have already thought of this, but just in case -- have you thought about cutting up some fresh veggies (celery, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, etc) and have them in baggies in the refrigerator to munch on in times like this?

    I love your attitude Leah!

  2. I do that sometimes, too - where I turn one thing down but then overeat another. Maybe you should just throw out the candy at home!

  3. Lori, Funny you should say that...I'm going to clean out everything except what my kids just got for Halloween. They are in their own labeled bags, so I'm more likely to stay out of them.

I'd throw it all away, but I limit it to 1-2 pieces for my kids a day and they are good about not sneaking anymore. So, I don't want to take away their treats.

Time for me to crunch down and get a bit strict again.

    Thanks for stopping by!

  4. You know - at least you didn't eat the cookie and the candy! You made a choice that was good for you and stuck with it!! I call that a victory.

I just got back from Dallas - and saw the picture of you dressed up like a chef! Too funny.
